How to tell what firmware version is in your M7100 Handheld Terminal

M7100 w/standard memory
M7100 with standard memory

M7100 w/expanded memory
M7100 with expanded memory

To display the current firmware information on the M7100, enter the Menu system and select:

Diagnostic Menu

Then

Firmware Version

You should now see a screen similar to the ones above.

Note in the above examples, the standard memory version DOES NOT have a -32 extension listed with the RAM DISK IMAGE version or the LINUX KERNEL version.

It is very important that the proper files are used when re-flashing (programming) the M7100 unit.

Flash files written for the standard memory version will not have a 32 listed in the file name.

Flash files written for the expanded memory version will have a 32 listed in the file name.
